All went well, there were no tears or lost limbs. It is amazing how much third graders grow over the course of a year. I am sure they were a little overwhelmed but, we will keep introducing things slowly and in a few weeks they will get the hang of it.
Things of which you should be aware:
1. The children have lots of forms for you to fill out. If you are like me you will have multiple copies to complete. I have asked the kids to try and get them in by Tuesday of next week, and I have offered a prize to the children who return them by then.
2. If you could make sure the agenda get initialed each night that would be great. There is an error in the agenda. The Summer bag project is not due until Wednesday.
3. If your child has a regularly scheduled day to get picked up or go to extended day please send me a note (ie. If every Wednesday your child will be a pick up).
4. If you are going to change your child's dismissal procedure for a day please send a note or call the office (978-368-8482) and they will relay a message to me. Please do not email or call me directly.
Specific questions to get your children to tell you about their day in case they could be:
1. Who did you play with at recess?
2. What books did Mr. Joyce read today?
3. What games did Mr. B. play at recess?
This may help get the ball rolling.
Can't wait for day 2!
