Spelling

Dear Families,

As this is the first week of spelling, I got some questions.  So I wanted to clarify a few things.

1.  Rather than have the children bring in flash cards that they must bring home again, we have a page that states they did their spelling.  They put their name on it and have a parent or caretaker sign it.  If they do it at extended day etc.  I am willing to accept a signature from them, or if your child goes to a sitter after school.

2.  The due days.  Since, I am the only teacher who sends home the homework on Fridays, I have my list set up with assignments listed as due days.  The spelling homework is across the grade and the other teachers assign things nightly.  Therefore it said, Monday: Flash Cards.  This is because that was the homework to complete that night.  Tuesday nights homework is ABC order, but on my weekly cover sheet it says that ABC order is due on Wednesday.  I hope this clarifies any confusion.

Also, I have a link on my homepage to Spelling City.  The children can use the games on this page to do extra practice.  It is limited because we are using the free version.  If you are friends with parents from other classes, you can let them know that the spelling page is the same for all the classes.  We use a common webpage.
