Lip Sync 2016!
What is Lip Sync?
A super-fun fundraiser sponsored by the PTO. Lip Sync is a 2 day “show” starring the kids! The elementary kids perform “lip-sync” songs in groups, the middle-school kids help with choreography, are stage crew, announcers and run sound & lights; the teachers perform a special “teachers act”, and the parents help with everything else.
How to join the show?
The kids work together to pick a song and put together their own group
Send in sign-up sheet no later than Jan 29th
- ALL participants must have a signed permission slip sent in
What happens next?
This year we are handling the song submissions differently:
Please do not submit CDs for song choices. All we need are the Song Title, Artist, and Album Title of your group’s first and second choices.
Your song will be purchased and downloaded from iTunes and cut to approximately 2 minutes. Unless otherwise requested, all songs will start at the beginning and will be faded out and cut at approximately 2 minutes. If your group wants a song to begin at a different point, please specify the exact time that the song should begin and end
Group Coordinator will receive an email with the cut version of the song. Once approved, your group will receive a burned CD of the cut song for practice purposes.
Please email any questions regarding song choice, the submission process or cut versions to trishwags@comcast.net
Each group will be assigned a number so that practices and dress rehearsals can run smoothly.
How do I get tickets?
Advanced Ticket sale will only be done during Dress Rehearsal
o Presale - $5 / ticket, at the door $8 / ticket
Practice Schedule
We encourage Group Coordinators to schedule and hold practices at home or another preferred location. We will not hold practices at the school, except on the dates stated in this form.

Other Guidelines
Costumes: Age-appropriate and simple, it is not necessary to go out and buy anything, you can use fun things you have, bright and semi-coordinated works well!
Props: Are not necessary but some songs work well with a few props.
Guardians are responsible for bringing props to dress-rehearsal; they can be left if they fit appropriately behind the stage. Also, guardians are responsible for bringing props to show night and leaving with them.
General Tips:
Help the kids learn the lyrics; it makes for a better “Lip Sync” show when all the kids are singing along with the songs
Make a copy of the “cut” CD for each member of the group so they can practice at home
Print out the lyrics and makes notes on them of the dance steps; this will help kids remember when they are practicing on their own
Use the whole stage – don’t have the kids stay in 1 place, move around
Practice with your kids – its fun!
Keep everything age-appropriate and simple
On show night, kids watch the show using a movie projector in the gym to allow room for the audience. The kids may watch the show in the auditorium during the Dress Rehearsals if they remain quiet.

It’s in the groups best interest to get together at least once a week to practice their routines as the limited time at the school isn't enough to learn the routines
Note: Please keep this sheet as a reference if your child or children are participating
