You all should be very proud of your children today. We had visitors from the Rotary Club who came in to speak about Purple Pinkie Day. The children were polite listeners and seemed genuinely enthused to receive a dictionary compliments of the Rotarians.
Before they came in we reviewed having good manners and saying, "Thank you". We also discussed that even if someone gives you a gift you have already or cannot use that you are polite, and accept it graciously.
The children did not disappoint me. When they received their dictionary they said "thank you". Some of the children were shy having to accept it from a stranger, but they smiled and then the children began excitedly using the books.
I am happy to know that there is hope for the future and that these children are on their way to appreciating the gifts they receive.
